UKIP MEP Amjad Bashir reveals defection plan

UKIP MEP and communities spokesman Amjad Bashir has been suspended over financial and employment concerns, the party has said.

Party leader Nigel Farage said there were "extremely serious" questions which Mr Bashir had not answered.

Speaking to the BBC before the announcement, the MEP revealed that he had decided to defect from the party to the Conservatives.
