Alison Wolf on feminist help for women in low-paid jobs

Business Secretary Vince Cable has said a government target of having 25% women on the boards of big businesses by 2015 is in sight.

That might sound like a victory for feminism, but academic and crossbench peer Alison Wolf, claims modern feminism is dominated by the concerns of an "elite metropolitan life".

She said some efforts were "simplistic nonsense" and had no effect on pay and promotion for women, and there should be more emphasis on the problems of millions in low-paid jobs.

Baroness Wolf will debate this personal film on Wednesday's Daily Politics around 12:40 GMT with Conservative MP Penny Mordaunt and Labour's Vernon Coaker, and the full programme will be on iPlayer for 30 days.
