David Cameron: 'I've unblocked the log-jam'

David Cameron has denied he is obstructing plans for televised election debates.

Political rivals have accused him of running scared after he said he would only take part in one televised debate, featuring seven party leaders, ahead of the election.

Speaking on a visit to Cannock, Mr Cameron said he had "unblocked the log-jam" over what format a televised election debate should take and that he was sticking to his proposal that any debate must take place before the official general election campaign starts.
