Queen's Speech sets out legislation of new government
The Queen has opened the first session of the new parliament, outlining the legislation that the Conservative government wants to pass this year.
The speech in the House of Lords contained more than 20 bills, including an EU referendum by the end of 2017, more free childcare, and the right-to-buy for housing association tenants.
However, a British Bill of Rights, to replace the Human Rights Act, has been deferred to allow time for consultation.
