Burnham 'disappointed' at Cooper's call for him to step aside

Andy Burnham has said he is disappointed that his Labour leadership rival, Yvette Cooper, suggested he step aside.

Ms Cooper said it would help her chances of defeating the favourite, Jeremy Corbyn.

Lord Kinnock has become the latest grandee to warn against Labour limiting itself to being a party of "perpetual demonstration."
