David Blunkett: UK should take 25,000 refugees
The former home secretary David Blunkett says the UK should take 25,000 migrants within the next six months, with a priority for people from Syria, and women and children.
He was speaking in an interview with Newsnight to air on Thursday evening.
The government is under increasing pressure to commit to taking more people fleeing conflict.
Prime Minister David Cameron has said the UK will meet its "moral responsibilities".
Mr Blunkett spoke to Katie Razzall.
