Nicky Morgan on tax credits: 'What is the alternative?'

Education Secretary Nicky Morgan has insisted the government's decision to reduce tax credits will help to reduce the budget deficit.

The Conservative MP emphasised the "broader package" of reforms the government was making would make "a positive difference" for "working families".

However she stated that the prime minister had previously stated that "this policy is not going to change".
