David Cameron's New Year message: 'Extremists will not defeat us'

Extremists "will not defeat" the UK, David Cameron has vowed, in his annual new year message.

The prime minister said the UK would "take on the underlying, poisonous narrative of grievance and resentment, [and] come down hard on those who create the conditions for that narrative to flourish."
