What can Labour expect from the local elections?

Jeremy Corbyn will get his first big electoral test in just under two weeks time when voters go to the polls in local elections on May 5th.

Opposition parties usually do well in these contests - even when they have just lost a general election.

But with analysts predicting that the party could actually lose councillors - party strategists are managing expectations.
