Sadiq Khan: I don't want Donald Trump Muslim ban 'exception' offer

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has rejected US presidential hopeful Donald Trump's suggestion he could be exempted from his proposed ban on Muslims entering the US.

"I don't want to be the exception to be allowed to go to America," Mr Khan, the city's first Muslim mayor, said.

"It's not about me," he added. "It's about my friends, family and others from all around the world."

Mr Trump has said he is "happy" that Mr Khan will be leading London.

Speaking to the BBC, Mr Khan said he was supporting Democrat Hilary Clinton in her White House bid, adding: "I hope she trounces him."
