Brexit legislation needs 'systems in place'

Once article 50 is triggered, the next step in Parliament will be to pass the so-called Great Repeal Bill which will end the primacy of EU law over our domestic law. According to the Institute for Government's (IFG) report, legislating Brexit, warns that leaving the EU will place a huge burden on both parliament and government departments.

Dr Hannah White, director of research at the IFG tells the Today programme by triggering article 50, the UK has two years to pass the legislation and put the systems in place to recruit the staff needed to run those systems.
