Budget 2017: Hammond end stamp duty for first-time buyers
The chancellor abolishes stamp duty on homes under £300,000 to help first-time buyers to be effective from midnight on Wednesday.
And to help the more expensive areas, it will also be scrapped on the first £300,000 of the purchase price of homes up to £500,000.
Philip Hammond said the move would help 95% of all first-time buyers who pay stamp duty.
