Patel says Swayne Covid comments are 'thoroughly wrong'

The home secretary has called on a Tory backbench MP to apologise and retract the comments he made to an anti-lockdown group about the coronavirus restrictions.

Priti Patel said Sir Desmond Swayne’s comments are "thoroughly wrong" and strongly urged him to "take them back", but she said any further action would be a matter for the party whips.
