Some in Hull view the Westminster government as too remote.
In Hull the city council has teamed up with nearby East Riding of Yorkshire to submit a proposal to government for a devolution deal which, if approved, would mean a new elected mayor for the area.
Alex Forsyth spoke to people in area who expressed the view that the Westminster government was too remote, but not all of them thought a local mayor was the answer.
