Asylum changes 'risk making situation even worse'

Labour's shadow home secretary Nick Thomas-Symonds has criticised government plans to change rules for asylum seekers coming to the UK.

He told the House of Commons that the plans "risked making the situation even worse for victims of human trafficking... helping criminal gangs escape".
