Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey has said the government should raise carers' allowance and allow holidays for care staff.
He asked for a new Visa for carers to help staffing shortages.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the new social care plan means a "huge injection of support, both from the private sector and the government".
