Rishi Sunak: Our recovery comes with a cost

The chancellor has said strong public finances "don't happen by accident", in a speech at the Conservative party conference.

Rishi Sunak said unfunded pledges, reckless borrowing and soaring debt were "unconservative", but public finances "must be put back on a sustainable footing".
