Local elections 2023: Ed Davey launches Lib Dem campaign

Further gains for the Liberal Democrats in May's local elections would provide a "strong base" for getting more MPs at the next general election, the party's leader Sir Ed Davey has said.

Sir Ed recalled that his party won more new council seats than any other at last year's local elections and said people wanted "strong Liberal Democrat local champions”.
