West Midlands mayor 'disappointed' over HS2 decision
Andy Street said completing the rail line from Birmingham to London Euston was a "a good compromise".
He met Rishi Sunak on Tuesday in a bid to save the section from Birmingham to Manchester, but Rishi Sunak announced at his party conference that planned of the line would not be built.
Mr Street told BBC political editor Chris Mason said he had “fought hard and valiantly” against the cancelled.
