Minister details Post Office compensation scheme
Kevin Hollinrake has explained how the government will bring in legalisation in as "an exceptional step, but these are exceptional circumstances" over the Horizon scandal.
The Post Office minister told MPs that former sub-postmasters and postmistresses seeking to claim for exoneration and compensation would have to sign a statement confirming they did not commit crimes.
Anyone falsely signing would be subject to prosecution for fraud, Hollinrake told the Commons, adding "an honest postmaster will have his or her conviction overturned."
