Anderson: Quite foolish to trigger a by-election

Lee Anderson has suggested the BBC's political editor could fund the £100,000 cost for a by-election in his Ashfield seat.

The former Tory Party vice chairman, who has defected to Reform, said it would be "quite foolish" to hold a by-election so close to a general election, due sometime in the next year.

Mr Anderson has previously called for MPs changing parties to call a by-election.
