Sunak announces increase in defence spending to 2.5% of GDP by 2030
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced plans to increase defence spending to 2.5% of national income by 2030.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Nato's Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg in Poland, Mr Sunak said the world is "the most dangerous it's been since the end of the Cold War".
He added that the rise in defence spending "will be fully funded with no increase in borrowing or debt".
