Local elections: Tory chairman describes a 'disappointing night'
Conservative Party Chairman Richard Holden has described the election results so far as "disappointing".
Speaking on BBC Breakfast he said: "My heart goes out to a lot of my Conservative colleagues who I've been campaigning with out across the country who've lost their seats overnight".
He added: "Overall a disappointing night for us but that's what you'd expect from parties in midterm of government."
