Starmer to Sunak: Do early releases make country safe?

Rishi Sunak was asked to "guarantee" that none of the prisoners released early were considered high risk.

The PM told Sir Keir Starmer there were “strict eligibility criteria” and no-one would go into the early release scheme if they were deemed a threat to public safety.

In between their exchanges on prisons, the pair both weaved in questions and answers about defence spending following Mr Sunak’s speech on Monday.
