WWII Arctic convoys remembered

Arctic convoys carried vital supplies and arms from the West Highlands to our Russian allies during World War II.

More than 3,000 sailors lost their lives in those dangerous missions, breaking the German naval blockade.

Among those killed in Operation Dervish were dozens of Americans whose ship was driven on to rocks in Wester Ross in 1944.

Commemorations to mark the event will take place in Wester Ross.
