Gay marriage: Opinions from the US

One of the most high profile supporters of same sex marriage in the US is urging Scottish politicians to be brave as they consider the issue here.

Governor Jerry Brown refused to defend a ban on gay marriage despite public opinion. The courts will now decide if it is to be reinstated.

The Scottish government is due to release details of its consultation on the subject shortly.
