Virgin Trains on West Coast rail for another two years

Virgin Trains have won the right to provide services on the West Coast Mainline for the next two years.

The announcement follows an earlier decision to award the franchise to Virgin's rival, the Aberdeen-based First Group.

An official report says there were "serious problems" and "unacceptable flaws" in the UK government's handling of the tendering process.

BBC Scotland transport correspondent David Miller reports.
