Nigel Farage: 'I've been in worse places than that'
The leader of the UK Independence Party has said a protest at a party news conference in Edinburgh was "full of racism".
Nigel Farage said it was "very sad" that elements of the pro-independence campaign were "drowning out" debate on the issue.
Asked if he had been scared during the incident, he told BBC Scotland's political correspondent Raymond Buchanan: "I've been in worse places than that."
In response to criticism from UKIP leader Nigel Farage about his treatment during an interview on the Good Morning Scotland radio programme this morning, a spokesperson for BBC Scotland said:
"The BBC stands by the interview, which was robust but fair."
