Scottish independence: Sturgeon attacks 'bullying' on pound

Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has described as "bullying and intimidation" an expected announcement by Chancellor George Osborne ruling out a formal currency union if Scotland votes for independence.

Mr Osborne is expected to set out further details of the UK government's position in a speech later this week.

Ms Sturgeon told BBC Radio Scotland's Good Morning Scotland programme: "We have gone in under a week from David Cameron's love-bombing to bullying and intimidation."

The Scottish government has made it clear it wants to keep the pound if voters back independence in the referendum on 18 September.
