Scottish independence: Sterling currency debacle recapped

The three major UK political parties are lining up to oppose the Scottish government's plans to share the pound with the rest of the UK in the event of independence.

Leading Labour and Liberal Democrat politicians are expected to weigh in behind Chancellor George Osborne who has rejected a formal currency union in a speech in Edinburgh.

Is it bluff, bluster and an attempt to bully, as the Scottish government suggests, or do the parties in the UK government and the official opposition intend to rule out a formal currency union between Scotland and the rest of the UK in the event of independence?

If so, what is the SNP's alternative? All sides will have their say.

BBC Scotland's political correspondent Glenn Campbell reports on how we got to this point.
