Hampden pitch raised 6ft - three months in a minute

Time-lapse photography shows how the pitch at Hampden stadium in Glasgow has been raised ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

In order to accommodate the running track and athletics field for Glasgow 2014, the ground has been raised almost two metres up on a bed of metal stilts.

The operation has taken three months, beginning in December 2013, but here you can see it in under a minute.

The new running track will be laid next month when the weather improves.

The Commonwealth Games run from 23 July to 3 August.
