Stirling children perform in Venezuela for El Sistema

A group of children from the Raploch area of Stirling have been to Venezuela, home of the El Sistema music project that inspired their own Big Noise.

Sistema Scotland was inspired by a pioneering system of orchestras working in some of the most deprived areas of Venezuela. The idea is that children learn confidence and discipline as well as music.

Their trip culminated in a performance at one of the country's top classical music venues.

BBC Scotland's arts correspondent Pauline McLean reports from Caracas.

Watch on The Big Trip on BBC One Scotland on Monday 21 April at 20:30.
