Scottish independence: Salmond on JK Rowling's £1m donation
First Minister Alex Salmond believes author JK Rowling is entitled to give her money to whatever she pleases.
He was speaking after it was revealed that the Harry Potter books' creator had given £1m to the pro-Union Better Together campaign.
A statement on Rowling's website said she respected both sides of the debate but that independence carried serious risks.
Speaking in Aberdeen, Mr Salmond told BBC Scotland: "JK Rowling is entitled to give money to whatever she pleases and entitled to express her views."
