Scottish independence: Salmond on 'disintegration of the 'No' campaign'

First Minister Alex Salmond has dismissed promises by the pro-Union parties to offer more powers to Scotland if voters reject independence in next week's referendum.

Speaking in Edinburgh Mr Salmond said: "What we've seen is the disintegration of the 'No' campaign, a back of an envelope non-plan to cobble something together at the last minute because they're losing this election".

Scottish Labour leader Johann Lamont, Conservative leader Ruth Davidson and Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie made a statement in Edinburgh endorsing the "delivery plan for change" set out by former prime minister Gordon Brown.

The plans would give Holyrood more control over finance, welfare, and taxation should there be a "No" vote.
