David Cameron says independence 'question has been settled'

The Prime Minister has said all sides should respect the independence referendum vote in Scotland and work together to bring more powers to Holyrood.

In what will be seen by some as a public rebuke to the Deputy First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, David Cameron has said the outcome of last month's referendum should be accepted and honoured.

At the weekend Ms Sturgeon said it was ''not a case of if, but when'' independence came to Scotland.

Mr Cameron told BBC Scotland's Westminster correspondent David Porter: "I'd put it as Alex Salmond put it.

"For a generation, possibly for a lifetime, this question has been settled."
