Scapa Flow centre refit 'a step closer'

Plans to renovate and extend Scapa Flow Visitor Centre and Museum at Lyness have taken a major step forward.

Orkney Islands Council has committed £1.5m to the project and the Heritage Lottery Fund has also confirmed its initial support for a new building at the site.

Scapa Flow is likely to play a major role in the commemorations marking the centenary of World War One.

BBC Scotland's Andrew Learmonth reports.
