'Live the dream' ads target GPs for island life

General practitioners working in cities in the north of England are being targeted in an advertising campaign designed to fill vacant posts on Scottish islands and other remote communities.

The jobs have proved less attractive to Scottish GPs, as doctors in rural areas have workloads which their counterparts in urban areas no longer shoulder.

There are currently about 24 vacancies in the Hebrides, the most remote parts of the mainland.

The NHS Highland ads will appear on billboards and on buses in Leeds.
