Armistice Day silence observed in Edinburgh
A two-minute silence has been observed around Scotland to mark the anniversary of the World War One armistice.
Crowds fell silent in Edinburgh's Gardens of Remembrance in Princes Street as passers-by stopped to reflect on the sacrifice of those served in WWI.
Commemorations also took place in Dumfries, Dundee, Inverness and other locations as people stopped to pay tribute to the war dead.
In Glasgow a plaque was unveiled in the city's Central Station for the thousands who left to go to serve in World War One and World War Two.
