Bid to save stranded pilot whales on Skye
Efforts are continuing to rescue a large group of pilot whales that have stranded themselves at Staffin on the Isle of Skye.
British Divers Marine Life Rescue said 18 of the mammals were floated back out to sea at about 04:00 on Tuesday morning.
However, 10 of the whales have gone on to become stranded on a rocky shoreline.
Stephen Marsh, from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue, told BBC Scotland there is still a risk that the pod may re-strand itself.
