Glasgow bin lorry driver did not disclose medical history
The driver of the bin lorry that crashed in Glasgow, killing six people, did not declare his medical history of fainting and dizzy spells when applying for an HGV licence.
On Monday, the fatal accident inquiry heard that Harry Clarke had failed to disclose his medical history in a self-assessment questionnaire in 2008 and again in 2011 while applying for a licence.
Questions were asked about the council's recruitment process with Dorothy Bain QC highlighting "significant shortcomings". The council's HR manager Geraldine Ham agreed that there was room for improvement.
