Drivers on Forth Road Bridge warned of further delays

Traffic on the Forth Road Bridge will continue to be restricted to a single lane in each direction.

Engineers have been inspecting a defect on the bridge and have identified eight other locations where a similar problem could develop in the future.

The southbound carriageway has been closed since Tuesday night, causing lengthy delays for motorists who use the bridge daily.

Lorries weighing more than 7.5 tonnes have been advised to use an alternative route and drivers are being advised to check for updates, external.

BBC Scotland's Steven Godden reports.
