Calls for Donald Trump to be stripped of honorary degree

Campaigners have been calling on Aberdeen's Robert Gordon University to strip Donald Trump of his honorary degree.

The billionaire candidate for the Republican presidential nomination sparked international criticism after he called for an immediate ban on Muslims entering the US.

Nicola Sturgeon has joined in the growing condemnation being heaped on Donald Trump, describing his comments as "obnoxious, offensive, and repugnant".

Thousands of people have signed a petition calling on the university to strip him of the honorary degree he was given five years ago.

BBC Scotland's John McManus reports.
