Humpback whale freed from fishing gear in Loch Eriboll

A humpback whale has been set free after becoming entangled in fishing gear used to catch prawns.

The 40ft (12m) humpback whale had become trapped by creels, in Loch Eriboll near Durness, and then breached on Friday.

Members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue, external (BDMLR) managed to free the mammal from the ropes and guided it to safety.
