Fiance tells of devastating cancer diagnosis

Colin Leslie has been speaking of the devastation of losing his partner to breast cancer and has joined calls for the Scottish government to help stop deaths from the disease by the year 2050.

Sharon was first diagnosed in March 2013 and later died from the disease in September 2014.

Speaking to BBC Good Morning Scotland, Colin said one of the hardest moments was being told that there is no cure: "Sharon turned to me and said 'We're not going to grow old together'.

"To hear those words was devastating".

Breast Cancer Now, external has estimated that around 10,000 women in Scotland could die from the disease over the next 10 years.
