Willie Rennie's 'virtuous circle' of income tax rise
The leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats has defended his party's proposed 1% increase on income tax as "the virtuous circle" beneficial to all in society.
Willie Rennie has said that applying the rise to those who earn over £19,000 means that it will be a progressive and fair tax, of benefit to the economy and bringing educational benefits for all.
Mr Rennie was speaking to BBC Scotland's political editor Brian Taylor ahead of the party's spring conference in Edinburgh.
