Looking at Queen's visits to Scotland as she turns 90
The Queen's 90th birthday will be marked with gun salutes at Edinburgh Castle and the lighting of beacons across the country.
As Princess Elizabeth she gave her first public speech in Aberdeen in 1944, has had family holidays in Balmoral and performed Royal duties throughout her reign, opening the new Borders Railway on the day she became Britain's longest reigning monarch, on 9 September last year.
