Ruth Davidson says indyref2 is not the answer to Brexit

A second referendum on Scottish independence is not the way to address fears over the UK decision to leave the EU, says Ruth Davidson.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon had earlier announced that Brexit merited a constitutional change which triggered such a move.

All of Scotland's constituencies voted to Remain in the bloc, an outcome at odds with the UK decision.

The leader of the Scottish Conservatives said: "The 1.6 million votes cast in this referendum in favour of Remain do not wipe away the two million votes that were cast less than two years ago".
