'No one size fits all' in UK's Brexit talks

The idea of Brexit negotiations taking account of parts of the UK that voted to remain in the EU has been proposed.

Scottish government involvement in discussions in areas such as farming and fishing is a possibility, said Scottish Secretary David Mundell. He discounted the idea of a second independence referendum and said that reaching the best possible deals for Scotland and the UK are not mutually exclusive.

The idea was welcomed by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon who insisted that her mandate is to protect Scotland's place in the EU and that any Brexit talks must take account of those who wished to remain in the bloc.
