Sir Keir Starmer faces Gaza protests during Glasgow visit

Labour Party leader, Sir Keir Starmer, has faced protests while visiting Glasgow over his refusal to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Gaza war.

A video posted on social media showed Sir Keir being confronted by a train passenger, who asked him: "Keir, how many more children in Palestine have to die before you call for a ceasefire?"

Protesters gathered at Glasgow Central Station on Gordon Street where Sir Keir was arriving by train.

The protest continued outside the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Congress Road where Sir Keir was attending a fundraising dinner.

Police said a man, 33, and a woman, 26, were arrested and charged with "disorder offences".

Sir Keir has argued that a ceasefire would not be appropriate, because it would freeze the conflict and embolden Hamas.
