Keith Brown says dialogue ongoing over speedy rail link
Scotland's Transport Secretary Keith Brown said the dialogue with Westminster to bring a high-speed rail link from London to Scotland was ongoing.
He said he wanted the so-called HS2 scheme to go north of the border in order to bring journey times to and from the south of England down to as little as three hours.
At the moment there are plans to take the line to Birmingham and then send it to Manchester and Leeds.
Mr Brown told BBC Scotland's Good Morning Scotland programme: "The HS2 project makes sense both in terms of the environment and the economy and it also says it makes much more sense if it comes all the way to Scotland and we are very grateful for that support."
